Basura Meow, Itapon Meow

"Basura Meow, Itapon Meow" is an educational and fun trash-sorting game designed to promote environmental awareness by teaching proper waste segregation. Developed as part of our Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) course, this game combines adorable themes, intuitive controls, and interactive gameplay to encourage players to become responsible stewards of the environment.

Key Features

  • Engaging Gameplay: Sort falling trash into the correct bins (Recycle, Residual, and Biohazard).
  • Educational Elements: Learn proper waste segregation through immersive gameplay.
  • Lives System: Players start with 3 lives and lose one for each incorrectly sorted item.
  • Scoring System: Earn points for every correctly sorted trash item.
  • Difficulty Progression: The speed of falling items increases as the score rises.

🎮 How to Play

Game Controls

  • Move the Trash:
    • Left Arrow: Move left
    • Right Arrow: Move right
    • Down Arrow: Drop faster
  • Sort Trash into the Correct Bins:
    • Recycle Bin: For recyclables (e.g., paper, bottles)
    • Residual Bin: For residual waste (e.g., plastic wrappers)
    • Biohazard Bin: For biohazard materials (e.g., face masks, gloves)

Game Rules

  • Lives: You start with 3 lives. Lose one life for each incorrectly sorted item.
  • Game Over: The game ends when you run out of lives.

🔑 Note for Controls

Some buttons are not fully functional at the moment. We are actively working on implementing and fixing navigation and control features to improve the gameplay experience. For the meantime, here are the alternative way to control the game:

Game Scene Controls:

  • H: Navigate to the Home Scene
  • R: Restart the current game scene
  • Esc / P: Pause the game
  • M: Mute game audio

Instruction Scene Controls:

  • Left Arrow / Right Arrow: Paginate through instructions
  • Esc: Return to Home Scene
